Cade ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Cade mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Health profile data (medications, conditions, allergies) that you voluntarily enter
- Demographic information (age, gender, height, weight) provided during onboarding
- Health goals and preferences you select
- Family member profiles you create
- Emergency contact and pharmacist information
- Account credentials if you create an account (email, authentication tokens)
Information Collected Automatically
- Product barcode scan data and scan history
- Photos of products, medication bottles, and lab results you choose to scan
- App usage data (features used, frequency of use)
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- Crash reports and performance data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide personalized health interaction warnings based on your medications, conditions, and allergies
- Analyze product ingredients and nutritional information against your health profile
- Generate AI-powered health reports and research summaries
- Power the Ask Cade conversational health assistant
- Sync your data across devices when you create an account
- Send medication reminders and health notifications you configure
- Improve the App's features, accuracy, and user experience
- Process subscription purchases and manage your account
3. Data Storage and Security
Your health profile data is stored locally on your device by default using encrypted storage. If you create an account, your data may be synced to our secure cloud servers to enable cross-device access.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest to protect your personal and health information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Third-Party Services
Cade integrates with the following third-party services to provide its features:
- National Library of Medicine (RxNorm/RxNav) — for drug interaction data
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration (OpenFDA) — for drug safety and recall data
- Edamam — for nutritional analysis and food database information
- Perplexity AI — for AI-powered health research and photo analysis
- RevenueCat — for subscription and purchase management
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — for payment processing
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
5. Health Information Disclaimer
Cade processes health-related information to provide its services. This information is used solely within the App to deliver personalized health insights. We are not a healthcare provider, and the information processed by the App does not constitute a medical record. Your health data is never shared with insurance companies, employers, or other entities without your explicit consent.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With your explicit consent (e.g., sharing a health report with your doctor via the "Share with Doctor" feature)
- With service providers who assist in operating the App, subject to confidentiality obligations
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or governmental requests
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of Cade, our users, or the public
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: View all data stored in your profile at any time through the Profile and Settings screens
- Correction: Edit or update your health profile information at any time
- Deletion: Erase all your data using the "Erase All Data" option in Settings, or by deleting your account
- Export: Export your health data in CSV or PDF format from Settings
- Opt-out: Disable cloud sync by not creating an account; all data remains local to your device
8. Data Deletion
You can delete all of your data at any time by going to Profile → Settings → Erase All Data within the App. This will permanently remove all your health profile information, scan history, and account data from both your device and our servers. Alternatively, you can request data deletion by emailing us at support@getcade.app.
9. Children's Privacy
Cade is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
